What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Dosbarth Mochyn Ddaear! 🦡

In maths, we have been exploring equivalent fractions and putting our multiplication skills into practice through problem-solving. We chose different methods to help us solve problems, thinking carefully about which worked best for us and showing our workings out.

In literacy, we began our new writing journey: mystery stories! We completed our cold task, using our imaginations to write our own mysteries. This gives us a starting point to build on as we develop our storytelling skills.

The highlight of our week was Wednesday’s amazing visit to Cyfarthfa Castle and Merthyr Ironworks. We met local historian Charlotte and geologist Ben, who shared their knowledge of Merthyr Tydfil during the Industrial Revolution. It was such a special opportunity to bring our classroom learning to life and find out more about the history on our doorstep!

Back in class, we recounted our trip through diary entries, describing our experiences and sharing our thoughts and feelings about the day.

Da iawn, Dosbarth Mochyn Ddaear — a fantastic week of learning! ðŸŒŸ
