Week Beginning 19th October 2026

Big Bad Wolves and Beautiful African Sunsets πŸΊπŸ˜πŸ¦’πŸ¦“ πŸŒ…

This week in Dosbarth Pili-Pala, we have been busy developing our mathematical skills, continuing our narrative writing journey and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Zambia!

In Maths, we have been learning about one-to-one correspondence, using practical resources such as dinosaurs, counting bears and Numicon to count objects accurately and match quantities to numerals. We challenged ourselves to represent numbers in different ways, compare quantities and solve problems involving more, fewer and equal amounts. Some of us even explored missing numbers and different ways of making the same total!

In Literacy, we continued our narrative writing journey through The Three Little Pigs. We focused on using adjectives to describe the Big Bad Wolf, thinking carefully about his appearance and personality. We explored exciting vocabulary and challenged ourselves to use descriptive words to make our sentences more interesting and detailed.

On Wednesday, we enjoyed a wonderful creative day, where we travelled all the way to Zambia through our learning! We discovered more about the country and its beautiful landscapes before creating our own stunning Zambian safari sunset pictures. We loved exploring the warm colours of the African sky and produced some beautiful artwork!

We want to wish everyone a happy and safe half term - we hope you have an amazing week off πŸ¦‹
