Shapes, Stories & Autumn Adventures!
What a busy and exciting week we have had in Dosbarth Gwenynen! We have been getting stuck into our new topic and learning through lots of fun, hands-on activities.
We have been exploring 2D shapes in our maths area. We have been identifying and naming shapes, creating patterns and repeated patterns, and using shapes to design and build houses. We have loved seeing where our imaginations take us!
We have been enjoying the traditional tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We created our own story maps, using lots of pictures, mark making and CVC words to help us remember and retell the story.
We have been working hard on developing our fine motor skills through lots of different activities. During Welly Wednesday, we went outside to collect leaves and sticks which we then used to make our very own fairy wands.
We have started exploring the signs of Autumn. We have talked about the changes we can see around us and investigated conkers and acorns. At our play dough table, we made some very cute hedgehogs, adding pasta to create their prickly spines!
We have also been busy practising our Harvest Festival song and are getting very excited about performing it!
A little reminder: Even if your child does not attend wraparound on a Friday afternoon, we would still love them to join us for our Harvest Festival on Friday 9th October. We hope you can make it.
