This week in our Year 4 class we have been busy learning the following!

Forest School: We have been developing our practical skills by learning and practising different knot skills. The children have enjoyed getting hands-on and putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.

Maths: We have been working hard on our column addition skills, developing our confidence and accuracy when adding larger numbers.

Writing: We have been learning how to write a persuasive article about our local area. The children have been thinking carefully about how to use persuasive language and strong arguments to encourage others to appreciate what makes our local area special.

Local History: We have also been finding out about St Canna and why she is such an important figure in our local history. The children have enjoyed discovering more about her life and her connection to our local area.

A few reminders for home 

Please continue to read regularly at home and practise your weekly spellings. We have a spelling test every Friday, so a little practice each day can make a big difference!

Mathletics activities have also been assigned, so please make sure these are completed.

Jump In Day! 

On Monday, we are having our Jump In Day! There is no need for costumes, but we will be making some delicious Tudor soup as part of our learning.

Please do let me or the school office know if you do not consent to your child tasting the soup.
