Roald Dahl adventures, woodland walks and exciting new beginnings!
What another busy and exciting week we have had in Dosbarth Gwenynen! As always, our classroom has been full of fun, laughter, learning and lots of wonderful discoveries.
On Monday, we celebrated Roald Dahl Day, and we have been busy all week taking part in lots of fantastic cool challenges linked to our favourite Roald Dahl stories and characters.
From exploring imaginative ideas to getting creative with our learning, the children have loved bringing the magic of Roald Dahl into our classroom. We have seen some wonderful teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm throughout the week!
Wednesday took us on a fantastic adventure with Fantastic Mr Fox! We headed outdoors for a woodland walk, searching for natural items to replenish our mud kitchen.
The children enjoyed exploring the outdoors and looking carefully for natural treasures such as conkers, acorns, leaves and sticks.
We are always on the lookout for natural items to enhance our outdoor provision, so if you have any spare conkers, acorns, sticks or other natural treasures at home, we would love to receive them!
During our Health and Well-being session this week, we talked about the people and animals who are special to us.
We explored how our friends, family and pets make us feel and discussed why they make us feel this way. It was lovely to hear the children sharing their thoughts, feelings and experiences, developing their understanding of relationships and emotional well-being.
This week, we have sent out our first Amazon wish list!
Please don't feel obliged to purchase anything from this list. We are incredibly grateful for all the support we receive, and there is absolutely no expectation to buy.
We welcome any donations, and if you have surplus items at home or at work that you think we could use in our classroom, please do get in touch. I can almost guarantee that we will find a use for them!
Whether it is resources for our creative area, items for our outdoor provision or something that could spark a wonderful investigation, we are always grateful for your generosity.
As our mini inquiry into Cynefin draws to an end, we are very excited to announce that next Monday is our Jump In Day!
This will be an immersive introduction to our new topic:
We will be stepping back in time and beginning to explore how things have changed over the years. We can't wait to see where our curiosity takes us!
To help us launch our new topic, we are asking each child to bring in a toy from home to share during a circle time activity with their friends.
The children will have the opportunity to talk about their toy, share what they know and listen to their friends as we begin to think about toys from the past and present.
We have reassured the children that if they would like to keep their toy safe after our circle time, it can be kept safely in the kitchen area until home time.
Please remember that toys should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
We are so excited to begin this new adventure together and see what questions and discoveries our little historians make!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, kindness and generosity. We really do appreciate everything you do to help make Dosbarth Gwenynen such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
