Llwynog Class Blog – Farewell Year 6 💙

What an incredible year it has been!
As another school year comes to an end, it is hard to find the words to describe just how much this class has meant to me.
Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to every family for the incredibly thoughtful gifts, beautiful cards and heartfelt letters I have received over the past few days. I have been completely overwhelmed by your kindness. Every message has meant the world to me and there have certainly been more than a few tears! Your words will stay with me for a very long time, and I cannot thank you enough for making the end of this journey so incredibly special.
Without a doubt, this has been one of the most rewarding years of my teaching career. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to teach such a wonderful group of children. They are intelligent, funny, caring, resilient and endlessly talented, and I have genuinely enjoyed every single moment spent with them. They have made me smile every day and I feel so lucky to have been part of their journey.
This final term has given us memories that I know we will all treasure forever. From the excitement and unforgettable performances of High School Musical to the laughter of Sports Day, outdoor learning in the sunshine, our fantastic leavers' trip and so many moments spent together as a class, it has truly been a term to remember.
Yesterday's Leavers' Assembly was one of the most emotional afternoons I have experienced. Watching the children reflect on their time at Llangan and celebrate everything they have achieved filled me with enormous pride. Every single one of them has grown into remarkable young people, and I could not be prouder of everything they have accomplished.
This week, we have also enjoyed making the very most of their final days at Llangan. We have spent hours out on the field in the sunshine playing hockey, rounders and simply enjoying being together. One of my favourite moments was taking them back down memory lane, playing parachute games and even returning to the mud kitchen—just like when so many of them first walked through the school gates as little Reception children with me all those years ago. Watching them laugh and relive those memories was incredibly special and a reminder of just how far they have come.
Saying goodbye to a Year 6 class is never easy, but saying goodbye to this class has been especially difficult. They will always hold a very special place in my heart. Although they are ready for their exciting new adventures, a little piece of my heart will always remain with them.
To my wonderful Year 6, thank you for being simply the best pupils I could ever have wished for. Thank you for your laughter, your determination, your kindness, your personalities and for making every day such a joy. I will miss each and every one of you more than you will ever know, but I leave you knowing that you have bright futures ahead. Keep believing in yourselves, work hard, be kind and never stop chasing your dreams.
Finally, thank you to all our parents and families for your unwavering support throughout the year. Working together has helped make this such a successful and memorable year, and I am so grateful for the trust you have placed in me to teach your children.
Have the most wonderful summer, everyone. Good luck, Year 6 - you will always be my Llwynog class, and I will be cheering you on every step of the way. ❤️
Love Mrs Antoniou xx
