Keeping cool, solving problems and preparing to shine!
This week, we have all been working hard to keep cool during the extreme heat. We have been very lucky to have air conditioning in our classroom and most of the school, and the ice lollies have certainly helped us stay refreshed! We would like to say a huge well done to all of the children, who have been understanding, patient and sensible while coping with the hot weather. They have continued to work hard and show a fantastic attitude to their learning.
Our Year 3 pupils have also been busy practising for the Summer Play. The songs are coming along brilliantly, and it has been wonderful to hear the children growing in confidence with each rehearsal. We are sure it will be a real treat for everyone to watch in July.
In Maths, we have been developing our problem-solving skills. The children have been using their mathematical knowledge to tackle a range of challenges, thinking carefully about the strategies they could use and explaining their reasoning. We have been impressed by their perseverance and determination when faced with tricky problems.
We have also been busy preparing for our Jump Out Day on Monday. The children have worked incredibly hard and are very excited to share their learning with you. We cannot wait to welcome you into our school and show you all the fantastic work we have been doing.
Looking ahead to next week, we will be completing our rainforest topic by creating a "Rainforest in a Shoebox". To help us with this exciting project, please could your child bring in an empty shoebox (or a similar-sized box) that they can use for their model. We can't wait to see the children's creativity shine!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and stay safe in the sunshine.
