Theme: The Rainforest and Food Labels

This homework activity helps learners explore how everyday foods can be connected to the rainforest. Children will investigate labels, packaging, and ingredients at home or in the local shop.

Look in your kitchen cupboards, fridge, or fruit bowl.

Draw or write the names of the foods below.

Can you spot any of these words on the food labels?

Some food labels have special symbols on them relating to the rainforest, such as the one below. Go on a special symbol hunt in your food cupboard, local shop or supermarket.

What did you find? What food item was it on?

Draw the label and explain what it means. This could be done in the form of a poster, pictures with writing - the choice is yours.
