Friday 6th February 2026

As we head into the final week before half term, we are looking forward to a busy and exciting few days at Llangan Primary School. Next week, we will be marking Children’s Mental Health Week, with a strong focus on wellbeing, kindness and helping children feel good about themselves. Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing is central to our work in school, and we value the way our whole school community works together to nurture happy, confident learners.

What’s Happening Next Week at Llangan Primary School

💚 Children’s Mental Health Week

Next week we will be marking Children’s Mental Health Week, focusing on wellbeing, kindness and feeling good about ourselves.

Monday 9th February – 1:00pm
The week will begin with a special assembly led by our Wellbeing Warriors, who will launch Children’s Mental Health Week and introduce this year’s theme to the children.

Wellbeing Warrior Awards
During our Star of the Week Assembly, the Wellbeing Warriors will present a Wellbeing Warrior Award to one pupil in each year group, celebrating positive attitudes to wellbeing, kindness and care for others.

Friday 13th February – Dress to Make You Happy Day
On Friday, children are invited to come to school wearing something that makes them feel happy and comfortable. This could be pyjamas, a princess dress, a football kit, or any outfit that brings them joy.
This links beautifully with our Silent Disco taking place later that day.

 PTA Dance-a-thon – Friday 13th February

Get ready for a fantastic day of music and movement!

Our Llangan Primary School PTA Dance-a-thon will take place all day on Friday – non-stop dancing!

  • Children will have a choice of three different music channels

  • Year groups will take turns dancing throughout the day

  • The challenge is to keep the dancing chain going all day, with at least one child dancing at all times during transitions

Sponsorship forms should be returned to school by Friday 13th February, or donations can be made via our JustGiving page. Thank you for your continued support.

 Safer Internet Day – Tuesday

Tuesday is Safer Internet Day. Mr Howles and our Digital Champions will be leading a whole-school focus on online safety, helping children understand how to stay safe, respectful and responsible online.

Thursday Workshops

  • Years 5 and 6 will take part in Micro:bit workshops led by Techno Camps

  • Nursery, Reception and Year 1 will enjoy a Puppet Workshop in school, linked to their current inquiry learning

Important Parent Update

Please see the email sent to parents today with important updates regarding future leadership arrangements and staffing at Llangan Primary School.

 Sporting Success

This week, our netball team proudly represented the school at the Urdd Netball Tournament in Cardiff. Well done to all the pupils involved for their effort, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and engagement with school life. Weeks like this highlight the importance of wellbeing, connection and community, and we are proud of the way our children support one another. We hope you enjoy sharing in these activities with your children and wish all our families a positive and restful half term when it arrives.
