Busy Bees Learning with The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

This week we have been very busy doing lots of cool challenges related to our book of the week, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children loved exploring the story through a range of fun, hands-on activities.

In numeracy, we have been looking at place value, using practical activities to help the children develop their understanding of numbers in a fun and engaging way.

We have used sentence strips and pictures to build and retell the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children have also been busy showing their puppets to the class, and we have all loved seeing the wide range of creative and imaginative creations. This has helped to build confidence and communication skills.

In our creative area, the children have been using pipettes to improve their fine motor skills, carefully squeezing and controlling them to make colourful caterpillars. In the construction area, we have been building cocoons for the caterpillars.

We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly, exploring how a caterpillar grows and changes. The children were fascinated by the different stages and enjoyed talking about the transformation.

Thank you to all parents and carers who attended Parents’ Evening this week. We love hearing how much the children are enjoying school, and how much you all enjoy seeing their progress on the Seesaw app. Your support and engagement really make a difference.

Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or would like to know more about what we do in Dosbarth Gwenynen, please feel free to speak to a member of the team.
