It’s been an exciting week in our classroom, full of learning, creativity, and teamwork!

This week, we have been exploring area and perimeter of compound shapes. We learned how to break complex shapes into smaller, simpler shapes to calculate their total area and perimeter accurately. The students have been applying their problem-solving skills to tackle a range of challenges and are getting really confident with these concepts.

Our sci-fi narrative writing journey has come to an end! After planning their stories using all their previous learning, students engaged in peer assessment, giving each other constructive feedback based on our success criteria. They have now used this advice to edit and improve their stories, producing some fantastic final pieces full of creativity and imagination.

We have also finalised our plans and research for our passion projects, connected to our current inquiry: Electric cars shaping the future. The students are excited to present their findings next week and share the innovative ideas they’ve been exploring.

Some of our boys and girls represented our class at a netball tournament in Cardiff! They had an amazing time competing against teams from across Cardiff and the Vale, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship—and even winning a few matches along the way!

It has been a brilliant week full of learning, creativity, and teamwork. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
