Welly Walks, Welsh Wonders & Wonderful Learning!
This week in Dosbarth Gwenynen we have had a very busy and exciting time!
We celebrated St Dwynwen’s Day with a special Welsh Day. The children enjoyed learning about this special day and took part in a creative activity where they decorated their own Welsh love spoons.
Our book of the week was The Three Little Pigs. The children have been exploring the story in lots of different ways. In the tough spot area, they built houses using a variety of materials and tested which ones were the most suitable. We also worked on sequencing the story, writing CVC words, and mark making linked to the story, and they had lots of fun making pig masks and recreating the story in the role-play area.
During our outdoor learning session on "Welly Wednesday", we went on a colour scavenger hunt, searching for natural materials in the environment and talking about the colours we could find. It was a lovely sunny morning, and we spent time exploring the outdoor classroom and the school field.
In PE, the children have been practising their ball skills, focusing on throwing, catching and kicking a ball.
Thank you for all the effort you make each week with the homework tasks. Children who have already brought in their puppets have all enjoyed sharing these with their friends in class.
We wanted to say a massive thank you again for all of your kind donations from our Amazon wish list. The resources are hugely appreciated in our classroom provision areas and the children absolutely love them – thank you!
