Another amazing week of learning and fun in Year 6.
It’s been another busy and exciting week in Dosbarth Llwynog, packed with learning across the curriculum!
In maths, we have been developing our understanding of algebra and formulae, working hard to spot patterns, use symbols and apply our reasoning skills to solve problems with confidence.
In literacy, we reached the end of our writing journey by creating our own encyclopaedia entries based on the theme of flight. The pupils worked brilliantly to include technical vocabulary, clear explanations and the key features of non-fiction writing.
Our health and wellbeing lessons focused on perception vs reality. Through role-play and discussion, we explored different scenarios and talked about positive and negative feelings, considering how emotions can be displayed and perceived in different ways.
In inquiry, we investigated propulsion and had great fun designing and making our own rockets, which we then launched in class. This was a fantastic hands-on way to explore scientific concepts and test our ideas.
During PE, pupils worked collaboratively to practise throwing and catching with accuracy and precision, showing excellent teamwork and communication skills.
In Welsh, we have been talking about where we are going on holiday and what it is like there. We enjoyed lots of fun oracy games, helping us build confidence when speaking Welsh with our friends. Da iawn pawb!
We had an amazing day celebrating St Dwynwen's Day and taking part in Clocsio dancing and a twmpath on Wednesday – Take a look at our school Instagram for photos and videos.
Finally, in French, we have been describing ourselves through engaging oracy activities, practising pronunciation and using full sentences.
Another brilliant week of learning in Dosbarth Llwynog – well done Year 6! 🌟
